Gir kicked his feet over the edge of the dock, smiling widely at the ripples of the tide coming in off the lake. Zim refused to go near the water, telling him he didn't want to be burned by the 'ACIDY LIQUID OF DOOM'. Gir was sad about that, but didn't protest against his master's decision, and went alone. It was a quite April day, bird's where squishing, flowers where glowing radioactively, the sun as just barely shining through the smog clouds from the city they lived in.

Zim glanced up at the cyborg from his book, he smiled at the back of Gir's head. He went back to reading 'Interview with the Mutant KATT', it was interesting, if not a lengthy read. His eyes were silver gray because of his lenses, but it was different from the thick clouds of smog over head. He frowned, earth was a disgusting planet.

Gir stood up and stretched, noticing his master in the nearby tree, he giggled to himself as he went to scale it, teal eyes glinting mischievously, Zim was distracted with his book. Gir's tongue stuck out of his mouth in concentration as he carefully  balanced himself against the tree trunk.

Zim looked up and noticed Gir missing from the dock, eyes widening as he feared his little cyborg had fallen in. Panic flared as his wide, falsely colored eyes searched in vain for the ex-robot.

"Gir-"

"Surprise!" Gir's arms, wrapped around his waist, his soft breath tickling Zim's antenna under his wig.

"AH!" Zim wobbled on the branch, desperately stabling before casting a glance at the cyborg, "What was that for Gir?"

"I luvvvvves you mastah!" Gir purred, his cheek rubbed against Zim's lovingly in the awkward backwards hug.

"Yes, yes, Zim loves you too-" Zim froze as Gir pecked his cheek, lovingly giggling against his skin.

"Luvvves you~" Gir squeezed him, careful of his PAK, always careful of his PAK, because Gir was so protective of his master, he needed to be careful with his master's mind.

"Please let me go." Zim scowled, he thought he had seen Dib's enormous head in the distance, maybe not. Better safe then sorry, "NOW Gir."

Gir untangled his arms, frowning tiredly, his lip trembled as if he where going to protest, but his voice didn't come. Zim started to climb down, an arm from his PAK took his book and slid it into his backpack -an over the shoulder bag- and his eyes drifted to Gir as the little guy struggled to get down. His foot slipped and he fell, Zim's eyes widened in fear.

"Ahhhhhhhhh!" Gir's hands reached for the branch, even after it was to far away, his hands closed around nothingness.

"GIR!" Zim rushed forward, arms spread wide, he caught the pint sized cyborg, by some miracle.

Gir started to cry, curling into Zim's warm arms. He had never been so afraid in his life, he was afraid he would have died and left master all alone...

The tears caused a mild reaction, red and itching on his neck, but he didn't care, he could have lost Gir. Pink tinted drops of salted liquid rolled down his emerald skin, just holding him, stroking the boy cyborg's cheek.

"It's alright Gir, I wont drop you." Zim's voice was choked with tears.

"Don't put me down master-" Gir gasped between sob's, "P-Please don't let me fall!"

"I wont Gir, I-I wont ever -let you get hurt." Zim couldn't hold back the tears from dripping onto Gir. Irk be damned, he wasn't this weak!

Zim's legs where shaking, he slid down against the tree, pulling Gir closer against his chest. His head rested on the mop of silver hair on the cyborg's head, he could feel the hot uneven intake of breath in the crook of his neck as Gir's shock passed slowly. Gir's fingers curled into his shirt, tugging it with shaking fists, he could feel Zim's pulse this close, it was wild- but evening out as his breathing did.

Gir had stopped crying for the moment, but tears still threatened to fall. Zim was petting his neck and back, comforting him in any way he could. Gir had always been emotional, but ever sense he had gotten his human body he had new chemicals in the mix, he became more high strung and unpredictable. Zim just wanted to make Gir feel safe again, so that he could smile and distract Zim from his own worries and fears, he needed Gir to be happy so he could be strong.

"Are you alright Gir?" Zim whispered into the cyborg's ear.

Gir nodded slowly, his fists tightening into the fabric of Zim's T-shirt, chest arching into Zim's, just struggling to be closer to his source of comfort and warmth. He tilted his head away from Zim's neck, his eyes where wide, searching as they locked with the Irken's. Gir's lips trembled, he leaned up slowly, eyes lidding over, head tilting to the right slightly, Zim felt his own eyes sliding closed, he edged down slowly, head going the other way to match the cyborg's.

Gir could feel his masters breath against his own lips, they just barely brushed together, hesitantly, and extremely light. Gir smiled weakly as they gazed into each others eyes. A flutter in his heart caused his breathing to change, faster, excited, it was a completely new feeling.

Zim leaned down again, tempting another encounter, Gir moved eagerly to meet him, wanting to feel that amazing flutter in his heart. A flash went off and even though his eyes where half lidded, it blinded him. He squealed in surprise, falling back and out of Zim's lap onto his back.

Dib stood four feet away, a shocked look on his face and a camera dangling in his hands. Dib had seen Zim in the tree ten minutes ago, he was going to sneak up on him and get a picture, he got more than he expected.

Zim growled, a PAK leg stabbed the camera out of Dip's hands and crushed it on the ground. He stood and helped Gir up, who moved into his arms so that they surrounded him protectively. He glared at Dib before they turned and walked away. His heart -Squidily spooch- was still pounding minutes after Gir had left, his lips still electrified.

Gir smiled, he felt safe with Zim's arms around him like this, he always felt safe when he and Zim where touching, even when he was still a little robot. His teal eyes couldn't stop from shifting to him and away the whole way home, he seemed nervous about it though. What was Zim going to say when they got home? Gir frowned at the thought of getting reprimanded for this afternoon, what if he didn't even mention it though? The thought of Zim not wanting to even bring it up terrified Gir to no end, he did it because he wanted-     He didn't even know what he wanted anymore... Why did he do that? What made him want to? Why Zim?

Gir seemed dead to the world, Zim smiled at him, knowing he wouldn't be caught by that blue gaze. Zim could see their house at the end of the caldusac, the gnomes had not been disturbed, their base was completely safe while they where gone. Gir sighed, Zim eyed him, still looking so distant from the world, so estranged, mysterious...

Gir would test it then. He decided, that way he could get his answers, this made sense in his head... but so did a lot of bad ideas...

Zim shut the door behind them, turning back around to face Gir, a question on his lips. The question would remain unasked, as he soon found a better use for his mouth.

Gir's lips where against his the moment he turned around, he just barely pecked them before moving back, wide expecting eyes. Now to wait and see if he just ruined everything.

Zim blinked a few times, his mind had just been slapped in the face. He looked down into Gir's eyes. He had one thousand questions -none where good enough-, he had one thousand reply's to that -none could express how he really felt-, until one thought rose above all others, seeming logical.

Gir waited, losing heart by the second, his fears threatened to become true. His eyes closed in shame and his gaze angled toward his feet, he didn't even deserve to look at Zim right now. He was a bad robot... movement caught the shadow's on the floor, silken fabric against his cheek, tilting his head upward.

Gentle, warm, sweet, fuzzy, tender, caring, passionate, if only they both hopped that's what it really was. It was just as fast as the others, just a peck, but it meant so much more to Gir then the other ones, it made his body feel funny things, not bad funny, but warm funny.

Zim, not knowing what else to do, patted Gir's head and walked to the lab, the cyborg smiled, touching his lips. Zim wondered vaguely what this odd, wonderful feeling was that was warming him all over. Gir squealed, victoriously, and flung himself into the couch so it could drown a much louder scream of excitement.

Dib was still standing at the lake side park, wonder what the heck just happened and if maybe he really was crazy...

He just saw an alien making out with a cyborg under a tree, and he had his camera with him. No, that hadn't just happened, he was going to go home and take a sleeping pill and get some must needed rest. All this not sleeping was messing with his mind, all he needed was some sleep, then he'd stop being completely insane and go back to his usual insane.

Yup, it was like today didn't even happen at all.
Gir would never forget that day.
Zim didn't know what to think of that day.
Have some ZaGir.
I started writing a thing called Electrically Charged.
Dib stays up late wit his research of the paranormal, normally forgetting to sleep, causing wild hallucinations.
